Checkups and Cleanings

Your hygiene appointment will be far from routine. Your visits every six months allow Dr. Holt and our dental hygienists to ensure your smile is in tip-top shape. It makes it possible to catch small issues before they become bigger (and expensive!) problems.

Your typical hygiene appointment could include:

  • A through comprehensive exam (digital x-rays, tooth charting, etc.)
  • Periodontal screening (checking gum health)
  • Oral cancer screening
  • A gentle cleaning from our talented dental hygienists

Night Guards

Are you grinding your teeth at night? Many people do not know they are nighttime grinders, but you can spot the symptoms.

  • Worn down teeth
  • Constant migraines
  • A sore jaw

Those are a few of the many multiple symptoms you may experience if you’re grinding your teeth at night. This type of clenching creates pressure on your teeth, which causes it to wear away over time. Our night guards can protect your smile from the nightly grind. By protecting your smile from grinding, you won’t need extensive dentistry done in the long run – your smile will thank you. Talk to us today for more information.

Sealants

Sealants are thin, tooth-colored coatings painted on the surfaces of teeth, especially for your back molars (chewing surfaces). This protective layer prevents tooth decay, preventing future problems and sealing out the decay.

We recommend sealants for children, but in some circumstances, we can place them for adults as well.

Scaling and Root Planing

Gums are the foundation for healthy teeth, making it crucial to take excellent care of them. If you’re noticing the following symptoms with your gums, you may be seeing early signs of periodontal disease:

  • Bleeding
  • Redness and puffiness
  • Recession

If not treated properly, it may result in losing your teeth and put your overall health at risk (gum disease could increase your chances of heart disease, diabetes, and so much more!). To stop gum disease in its tracks, Dr. Holt may recommend scaling and root planing (a deep cleaning). Your hygienist will gently clean your teeth and roots to get rid of any plaque and harmful bacteria.

Restorative Dentistry

Dental Fillings

A dental filling is needed when a tooth is damaged from decay. It restores your tooth’s function and stops the decay from worsening.

Do you think you’re in need of a filling? At Holt Dental, we offer:

  • White fillings
  • Silver fillings

If you’re in need of fillings, Dr. Holt will discuss with you the pros and cons of each material and suggest the best one for you. We’ll do everything possible to ensure your fillings are smooth, look natural, and last for a long time.

The anatomy of a dental implant

Dental Implants

Are you missing teeth? Dental implants are the best solution to replace your missing teeth. A dental implant is a titanium post that’s placed within your jawbone to mimic your tooth root. Then, Dr. Holt will restore a crown to look and feel like your natural tooth.

Since implants look and feel like your natural teeth, they perform the same functions as your smile. Dental implants can:

  • Allow you to eat your favorite foods
  • Help you to speak clearly without slurring your words
  • Stop jawbone deterioration to bring back facial support
  • Last almost a lifetime with the proper hygiene maintenance
  • Hold your dentures in place

What are you waiting for? Talk to Dr. Holt to see if implants are right for you.

A dental bridge

Crowns & Bridges

Crowns: Also known as a cap, a crown is needed to restore a severely damaged tooth back to its full function, strength, and beauty. Dr. Holt works in close cooperation with her dental lab to ensure your crown will look and feel like your natural tooth.

Bridges: If you aren’t a candidate for dental implants or if you’re looking for a more cost-effective solution, bridges are an alternative to replace missing teeth. A bridge is an artificial tooth held in place by crowns bonded to the adjacent tooth on each side of the gap. In the end, you’ll have a beautiful smile, free from missing teeth.
